Trust Company is a non-depository trust chartered by
the South Dakota Banking Commission. As a trust company,
Equity Trust can provide its clients with a wide array
of trust services, including serving as an IRA custodian
and as a trustee for individuals, corporations, institutions
and employee benefit, stock ownership and retirement
plans.
Equity
Trust, being domiciled in the state of South Dakota,
allows clients to establish trusts under South Dakota
law and benefit from the favorable trust laws in that
state. South Dakota was chosen because of its pro-business
trust and banking laws. South Dakota is the only state
in which non-residents can establish a trust that exists
in perpetuity; and income received from investments
in a South Dakota trust are exempt from state and city
income taxes (except for South Dakota residents). Many
large corporations have chosen to charter trust companies
in South Dakota, most notably Citigroup.
The
staff at Equity Trust Company is comprised of professionals
who have considerable knowledge and experience in administering
