Rather than simply post a schedule on when the most active trading times for each region, the following is a more useful guide in helping traders plan their trading day.

Below is an example of Sunday - Monday in EST
 
7:00p Sunday: Trading begins: markets open in Tokyo, Japan

9:00p Sunday: Singapore and Hong Kong open

2:00a Monday: European markets open in Frankfurt

3:00a Monday: London opens

4:00a Monday: European markets in full swing; Asia finished

8:00a Monday: US markets open in New York, Europe winds down

5:00p Monday: Australia takes over

7:00p Monday: Tokyo ready to re-open

Note: London switches to daylight savings before New York

Best times to trade on all main currencies during the window of:

3a – 6a EST
8a – 12p EST
